Nordost Valhalla

Speed, detail, and an incredibly realistic presentation of the musical event are the qualities that set the flat array Valhalla speaker cable apart. This is (apart from Odin) the most neutral loudspeaker cable every developed. If you want to hear every nuance and musical detail with all the clarity and natural accuracy that your system is capable of, Valhalla sets the standard.Valhalla speaker cable consists of forty conductors divided into four groups of ten. Each conductor is made from optimized diameter solid 99.999999% oxygen free copper that has 78 microns of silver extruded over its surface. The surface of each conductor is highly polished before a high precision micro mono-filament wrap is applied.This is helically wound around each conductor before a precision FEP jacket is then extruded over the outside. A number of proprietary methods are used in this difficult and extremely precise manufacturing technique that reduces dielectric contact by a factor of more than 80%. Extremely mechanically stable, the conductors are effectively suspended in inert air, preventing oxidation.Transmission speed of the Valhalla cable is extremely fast, at over 96% the speed of light. The cable has an effective dielectric constant of 1.12, which is incredibly low, the reference point being air or a vacuum, with a dielectric constant of 1. When it comes to transmitting wide bandwidth signals with minimum phase shift this cable effectively defines the state of the art. It delivers incredible transient response and dynamic resolution, preserving an incredible depth of musical detail and allowing one to follow complex and difficult recordings with ease.

Nordost Frey

The Frey Interconnect uses six 26 AWG solid OFC conductors with an extruded silver surface. The conductors are wrapped in a FEP thread or mono-filament, wound in an open helix. An FEP tube is extruded over this, which reduces insulation contact with the conductors by more than 80% while providing extreme mechanical stability. The cables are terminated with WBT NextGen gold-plated copper connectors, which offer superior low-mass connection between the cables and equipment. The Frey loudspeaker cable is a superb product which uses twenty-eight 24 AWG solid OFC conductors, each with an extruded silver surface, in a flat array arrangement. With an effective dielectric constant of 1.12 Frey loudspeaker cables transfer signals much more efficiently than conventional designs and at extremely high speeds, to produce fabulous sonic performance. Nordost Heimdall

The Heimdall interconnect uses four 26 AWG solid OFC conductors with an extruded silver surface and micro mono-filament spacing. The cables are terminated with WBT NextGen gold-plated copper connectors that offer a superior low-mass connection between the cables and equipment. The combination of four mono-filament conductors with the WBT connectors means that this cable offers superb imaging and musical detail.

The Heimdall loudspeaker cable consists of twenty-four 24 AWG solid OFC conductors with an extruded silver surface, in a flat array arrangement. It is the most affordable speaker cable in the Nordost range that employs our proprietary, state of the art micro mono-filament technology which reduces insulation contact with the conductors by more than 80%. This means that current signals traveling above the surface of the conductor are virtually unimpeded by the insulation material. With an effective dielectric constant of 1.12 Heimdall loudspeaker cables transfer signals more efficiently and at extremely high speeds. Nordost Vishnu

The Vishnu sets a new standard of performance at its price. Vishnu offers superb sound stage and increased dynamic range in the audio arena. When used with video components, previously unsuspected color, detail, depth and edge definition are revealed.

The cable consists of three solid core conductors. These are manufactured by extruding silver over 16 AWG Oxygen Free Copper conductors and then individually suspending them in a micro mono-filament matrix. The separately insulated solid core conductors eliminate strand interaction, hot spots and carbonization, which can occur in stranded cables, thus ensuring optimum performance. Extruded FEP insulation is superior to all other materials due to its very low signal loss and high thermal efficiency. It dissipates heat very quickly and allows greater power to be transferred more efficiently. Micro mono-filament technology also increases current flow, delivering transmission speed in excess of 85% the speed of light. It also lowers the resistance of the cable, preserving the benefits of your power supply’s low source impedance. The three mono-filament power conductors are wound in a special configuration, using very precise manufacturing techniques to keep the impedance, capacitance, and other electrical specifications within very tight tolerances and to eliminate external EMI/RF interference. The result is fabulous sound and stunning picture quality.

Nordost Tyr

The Tyr interconnect uses four 22 AWG solid OFC conductors with an extruded silver surface of 60 microns. Featuring our advanced dual mono-filament technology, the reduction of insulation contact by more than 85% means that the current and voltage traveling above the surface of the conductor are virtually unimpeded and signals are transferred more efficiently, accurately and at extremely high speeds. For optimum performance single-ended Tyr interconnect cables are terminated with WBT NextGen gold plated copper RCA connectors. These low mass plugs offer the perfect impedance matching between the cable and equipment. Tyr is also available with carefully selected balanced terminations. This cable offers superb coherence, detail and realism in a musical performance.

The Tyr loudspeaker cable consists of twenty 22 AWG OFC conductors with a 60 microns extruded silver surface, arranged in a flat array. Mono-filament design reduces insulation contact with the conductors by more than 80% which means signals are virtually unimpeded by the insulation material. With an effective dielectric constant of 1.12 Tyr loudspeaker cables transfer signals very efficiently at extremely high speeds, resulting in superb detail and musical realism. Nordost Norse Series Bi-Wire Jumpers

Although Nordost has always offered matching bi-wire jumpers for each of its speaker cables, now, for the first time, we are offering a dedicated design that offers superior performance for the price.

Based on micro mono-filament technology, each pair of jumpers takes a straight-line, low-loss approach to the problem of replacing the bent metal plates or generic wires supplied with most loudspeakers. Using high-quality, low-mass terminations, the standard configuration is spade to 4mm Z-plug, although any combination of those connectors is available at no extra cost.

Here, simplicity really is the key: replace standard bridging plates with Norse Series Jumpers and you’ll be astonished at the difference. Do it with a speaker that’s already hooked up with Nordost micro mono-filament speaker cable and that difference will be even more apparent.
